When you looked at the rosters of the Canada and United States Pan-Am Games rosters this past summer, you couldn’t help but notice there were three UConn Huskies women’s basketball players on there.
Two of them were on the USA roster in Breanna Stewart and Moriah Jefferson. The Canadians featured the other, Kia Nurse.
The trio met up in the finals which eventually saw Nurse getting the better of her UConn Huskies teammates by scoring 33 points to lead Canada to its first ever Pan-Am Games medal in women’s basketball, this one being gold.
Watch and/or listen below as Nurse, Stewart and Jefferson talk about the “bittersweet” feelings of facing a teammate during a recent media availability with the team.
