Last Tuesday during the American Athletic Conference Media Day, UConn football head coach Bob Diaco surprised some people when he said LB Matt Walsh was in a position battle to start at inside linebacker with Marquise Vann.
This is the same Walsh who moved from fullback to linebacker during spring football. Vann was the leading tackler for the UConn Huskies last season.
The Madison, Connecticut native did play linebacker in high school and was the starting fullback his freshman year. He also has played on special teams during his two seasons in Storrs.
