American Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week – Week 3

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the third week of the college football season.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Keenan Reynolds • Sr. • QB • Navy • Antioch, Tennessee
Reynolds set an American Athletic Conference single-game record with five rushing touchdowns to lead Navy to a 45-21 win against East Carolina in the Midshipmen’s first conference game in program history. Reynolds rushed for a game-high 142 yards on 24 carries, capping the Midshipmen’s first three drives with touchdowns and registering his NCAA-record 13th career game with at least three rushing TDs. Reynolds, who ranks fourth in NCAA history with 70 career rushing TDs, stands seven touchdowns away from the all-time mark of 77, held by Wisconsin’s Montee Ball.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Eric Wilson • Jr. • LB • Cincinnati • Redford, Mich.
Wilson had a game-high 18 tackles with a pass breakup to help Cincinnati to a 37-33 win at Miami (Ohio) in the annual Battle for the Victory Bell, helping the Bearcats to their 10th straight series win against their longtime rival. Wilson had two tackles on the RedHawks’ final possession and clinched the win iwith a pass breakup on fourth down with 20 seconds left in the game. Wilson ranks fourth in The American in tackles at 10.3 per game.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jake Elliott • Jr. • K • Memphis • Western Springs, Ill.
Elliott scored 14 points, including the game-winning field goal in the fourth quarter, to help Memphis to a 44-41 road win against Bowling Green, extending the Tigers’ winning streak to 10 games. Elliott made field goals of 34, 52 and 29 yards and was 5-for-5 on PATs to lead all American Athletic Conference kickers in scoring last week. Elliott has been perfect on placements this season, going 5-for-5 in field goals and 21-for-21 on PATs.

Paxton Lynch • Jr. • QB • Memphis • Deltona, Fla.
Completed 29 of 40 passes for a career-high 386 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-41 win at Bowling Green.

Matt Davis • Jr. • QB • SMU • Houston, Texas
Completed 17 of 31 passes for a career-high 330 yards and a touchdown and added 62 rushing yards and two TDs on 17 carries in a 56-37 loss at No. 3/3 TCU. Accounted for 392 yards of total offense.

P.J. Walker • Jr. • QB • Temple • Elizabeth, N.J.
Completed 28 of 48 passes for a career-high 391 yards and a touchdown in a 25-23 win at Massachusetts.

Sherman Badie • So. • RB • Tulane • Metarie, La.
Had five receptions for a game- and career-high 118 yards and rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on six carries in a 38-7 win against Maine.

Keyarris Garrett • Sr. • WR • Tulsa • Dangerfield, Texas
Had 14 receptions for 189 yards and a touchdown in a 52-38 loss at No. 16/17 Oklahoma.
